Most of my life, I have been exposed to severe negativity. All I have heard is more negative things about me instead of hearing God’s truth.
I remembered being a little girl when my preschool teacher told me that I was not “big” enough to recite my alphabet or numbers. I was told that my brain was too small and my body needed time to grow more before I could become an excellent student. I was told that I could never do what tall people could do because my size was a handicap and that I will never be able to do huge things. My first grade teacher proceeded to follow the steps as my preschool teacher by wanting to hold me back because my size wasn’t compatible with her standards. However, I had excellent grades and yet, I was told that I still wasn’t “big” enough to be successful in the next grade. Imagine being told that as a young child! Mind blowing, right?
I remembered hearing from boys that I wasn’t as pretty as another girl. I remembered hearing that I wasn’t good enough and never would be good enough for anyone. I remembered being told that I was a mistake and not an asset to life. I was told so many lies that I began to believe them.
Here’s the thing… none of what has been said is God’s truth.
This is why speaking life and truth is so important. Many people have been told lies all their lives. The lies we have heard can create so much pain and damage that it is hard for someone to hear God’s truth… this is why we need to be women who speak life again.
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Let me tell you this… I am the type of woman who will speak truth regardless of who you are and what you have done because we all need someone to believe in us when no one else does. I am the type of woman who wants to help others believe in themselves and God’s truth again. I am the type of woman who will strive to always speak life. Every day, I fight against the lies that I have been told and so will you.
Ladies, let’s step and be encouragers in the world. Let’s speak God’s truth into our personal lives as well as others. Let’s stop believing the lies that we hear and learn to discern God’s truth. If we are not rooted in Jesus and His word… it is impossible to know the difference between truth and lies. You will be swayed so easily until you finally become rooted in Jesus.
Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
I dare you to believe in God’s truth again. I dare you to speak truth to yourself even after all the lies have creeped through your mind, heart, and soul. I dare you to kick those lies straight to hell because they are not worth any value in your life. I dare you to speak truth into someone. Maybe you need to speak truth into your mom, grandma, daughter, niece, sister, friend, co-worker, husband, father, son, etc. Whoever needs to hear truth… don’t hold back or withhold from them. Let’s become a generation who speaks truth and life again. Let’s stop being a negative Nancy and learn to be a positive light. You never know who may need to hear you speak life to them.
Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Go and speak life! Maybe you will be given the opportunity to reveal who Christ is to someone who has never heard of Him through your encouragement and speaking life into them. Darling, be an encourager to a world and generation that desperately need it. You have no idea how important you are and how much people need to hear God’s truth.
